BlogCrush – Ryan Stephens
Every week I’ll be updating The Webb with a little ditty about my most recent blogcrush – a blog that I follow frequently and find inspiration, laughter and deep thoughts from. You know who they are, those bloggers that you’ve never even met but you feel a strange connection…you almost have a little crush on them? These are most definitely folks on my blog roll, and if you are reading and subscribing to The Webb they should be on yours, too
I learned about Ryan Stephens Marketing when a friend ReTweeted one of Ryan’s posts on Twitter. I was really going back and forth on who to write about for this week’s BlogCrush but Ryan’s most recent post about who you surround yourself with clinched the decision for me. RSM is a site that mixes brilliant insight on trends and tips in the social media world with personal posts about a young professional just trying to learn and figure “it” out.
I’m not the only one to jump on the Ryan Stephens bandwagon, and he was recently profiled at Conversation Agent as a Connector and Creator of Conversation. In fact, this may be part of what sucks his audience into his blog post after post. Ryan has made a name for himself promoting the results of Relationship Marketing. For him, it seems, marketing and business are not just about service and sales, it’s about creating relationships between companies and consumers (or bloggers and commenters) and letting that be an important enough to stand on it’s own without it having to always be about something else. And let’s face it, his job at a a sports media company is another pretty cool 9-5 gig.
One of the best ways to see how Ryan is working to promote these connections is his bi-monthly list of the Top 10 Gen Y Blogs. To the average person, you might think this is a super intensive list of BlogCrushes, but it is really a labor intensive project involving creating the ballot, compiling votes, writing up everything and getting the news spread across the internet. But Ryan is not the sort of guy to shy from any sort of challenge. I mean really, how can you not adore a guy who vlogs in his pajamas with footies in them (the tie is a nice touch, too!)
So if you are looking for some ideas to organically grow your business/organization/blog through building lasting relationships with your audience or learn a little bit about yourself from someone else working on the same thing, check out the Ryan Stephens Marketing blog.

Ryan is an innovator in his field and a facilitator of some pretty amazing discussions. It's been a pleasure getting to know him (and other people he has enabled me to connect with) – and being featured as the #1 Gen-Y blog for June? So crazy, totally unexpected, and awesome. Very humbling to be voted on by your peers as 'the best' in any regard.
Love what you are doing with #BlogCrush – and you couldn't have picked a better person to feature this week. Cheers!
Elisa,
I love your new series and look forward to seeing all of your BlogCrushes. It is a great way to learn about other high quality blogs such as your own. There is so much noise on the internet and being able to sift through all of it is half the battle. Bravo!
Elisa,
Thanks so much for including me. I'm uber flattered, particularly to be in the same company as Rebecca's blog Modite (which is one of my all-time favorites.)
I also love that you included a post I hadn't read in a long time, and really enjoyed re-visiting.
Like Curt, I definitely look forward to seeing more of your BlogCrushes.
And thank you Matt for the kind words as well. I love how much we can all learn from each other, as I consistently learn about new techniques of engagement from your approach.
Thanks again for sharing the spotlight with me on your blog. And if any of your readers have any questions, etc. I could potentially answer or help them with, please feel free to reach out!
