BlogCrush – Raven Moore
Every week I’ll be updating The Webb with a little ditty about my most recent blogcrush – a blog that I follow frequently and find inspiration, laughter and deep thoughts from. You know who they are, those bloggers that you’ve never even met but you feel a strange connection…you almost have a little crush on them? These are most definitely folks on my blog roll, and if you are reading and subscribing to The Webb they should be on yours, too.
The reason for this week’s BlogCrush is simple…she’s a babe.
Well, more appropriately Raven Moore is a Writerbabe. Raven is another blogger that I can’t quite remember how I found. I feel like she was a recommendation, maybe she was a featured post on Brazen. I know that her post on The Writerbabe Series about “wife material” was definitely the thing that fully drew me in to her site. Then when we traded a few direct messages and she stated her love for Maine and that she went to college here, I knew I was going to like her even more.
Raven is one of the most creative people I’ve encountered in the blogosphere. Like my first ever #BlogCrush she is brilliant in many mediums, from writing to books to photography to art. Her 9-5, in fact, is an amazing arts project used to increase human rights awareness in the mainstream through arts and design. She also essentially created the trademark “WriterBabe” after finding inspiration in Ani DiFrannco’s Righteous Babe records. One of my favorite things about Raven, however, is the fact that she is sometimes a little quirky, cranky and/or happy. She isn’t afraid to let her readers see any of those sides, either.
On The Writerbabe Series, she kinda says what she thinks and provokes great thought through some deep realistic opinions. I’m especially a fan of the way she isn’t afraid to call out some of the absurdities of social media and blogging. Good news, however, is that while Raven’s writing is going to force you to stretch those brain cells, there is plenty of fun mixed in as well. And she is accessible, whether writing about the importance of video games in a relationship, her birthday or the annoyance of urban transplants. Plus, we all know I’ve gotta like a girl who admits that she has issues being friends with girls (even if it IS kinda because of her.)
So if you are looking fora blog “for the professionally curious” that has no niche but instead creativity, opinion, deep thoughts and lots of fun, check out The Writerbabe Series.
