I hate election/voting/referendum season.
You’re probably thinking I’m one of those people who hates politics, hates discussions and hates conflict.  None of those things could be further from the truth.  In college I was very involved in Student Government, I’m at my happiest hanging out with people discussing issues/ideas/theories and I’ve been known to get in my share of heated debates/conflicts/bar fights.
I hate the political season because it brings out the worst in people.  No longer do people engage in logical discussions of fact and theory.  Instead they get upset and …

Life in a start-up is hard.
When I agreed to stay on in a sales office in 2003 for the woman opening business in a new location I was hesitant at best.  And I wasn’t very good at it.  In fact I quit less than a year later.
When I went back two years later (I wasn’t kidding, I really AM the poster child for Commitment-Phobia) it was to make a difference in an office.  I had spent 18 too many months working for the corporate machine, and I needed to feel …

Every week I’ll be updating The Webb with a little ditty about my most recent blogcrush – a blog that I follow frequently and find inspiration, laughter and deep thoughts from. These are most definitely folks on my blog roll, and if you are reading and subscribing to The Webb they should be on yours, too.
I don’t even remember when I first started following McKinney-Oates …

I am SO honored to have Akhila Kolisetty ask me to write a guest post for the “Be The Change” series on her site, Justice for All.  Though “only” a student at Northwestern University and another “young” woman like myself (ok, she’s a bit younger than me!) her site is a MUST read for anyone who is interested in addressing and changing the injustices that happen throughout the world.  It was a little scary writing for such a “grown up” site, but the topic is one that I am passionate …

When Rebecca at modite started a new series on her website about Monthly Goal Meet-Ups I was intrigued.  Of course we all know that I don’t make any quick and rash decisions, so I had to see how the first one “shook down.”  I don’t know why I even questioned the wisdom of my first #BlogCrush.

So here were the September goals I posted on Rebecca’s blog as a sort of toe in the water.
1.) Complete redesign and transfer to WordPress for the Webb Andrew Norcross, I cannot thank you enough.  …

There are certain songs we have come to associate with different  parts of our lives.  There are the songs that bring us back to high school, people choose to play at their wedding, and some of the most memorable scenes from movies are due mostly to their soundtrack.
Music has always been a pretty important part of my life, to the point where it very much could have been my major in college.  In fact, I can almost directly link most songs to moments or times in my life.  Like one …
