First off I have to go on record saying that in high school, I wasn’t even cool enough to hang out with the other band geeks.
Seriously.
I hope one of my high school friends reading this will take 2 seconds to comment and help confirm this fact.
I mention this tiny piece of my painful relationship with high school life because I feel it is important to let everyone in on a secret that apparently I haven’t relayed well enough.  I am a big huge walking talking living breathing mega adorable dork.  …

I grow tired of everyone assuming that living in the middle is a life unfulfilled.
Let’s face it…I’d say that 95% of us will never achieve the fame and fortune that we once dreamed of, exactly as we dreamed it.  Which is devastating to our gentle young professional generation.  As a group we were raised to get medals for participation (not winning) at every sports banquet.  Sliding scales and bell curves graded our work “more fairly.”  We’re taught that you should try to find Mr. Tall, Dark & Handsome to find …

I’m taking a little bit of a break from my #BlogCrush series to feature another series that I’ve been reading pretty diligently the whole month of November.
Sharalyn Hartwell has been collecting submissions all month long and posting them from bloggers across the internet.  Many of the submissions are folks who have been featured in my #BlogCrushes.  Others are bloggers I want to feature.
Regardless, the Gen Y Gives Thanks series is phenomenal.  So instead of reading about one featured #BlogCrush this Thanksgiving week I urge you to check out a whole …

They call Maine “Vacationland” for a reason.
Within a one hour drive you have sandy beaches for laying out, some of the best dining experiences in the US, wooded trails for afternoon hikes, a thriving nightlife of pubs and clubs, picturesque rocky coasts complete with lighthouses, shopping 24 hours at LLBean’s flagship store, skiing on fresh mountain snow, and so much more.  People plan entire weeklong escapes to come here, but *I* get to live it 24/7.
Which is why I was SO very excited to see this contest from one of …

I sometimes worry that I’m not a “good enough” feminist.
Sounds crazy, I know.  I mean really, where is this imaginary bar that measures one ability/aptitude/competence as a feminst.
I recently entered into a fantastic strategic partnership with a womens’ organization whose message and activist work align intrinsically with my beliefs.  “The Maine Women’s Fund is a philanthropic and leadership community for women in Maine. [Their] community enables women to use their vision, voice and resources to create lasting change for everyone.”  As part of my business partnership with the Maine Women’s …

Every week I’ll be updating The Webb with a little ditty about my most recent blogcrush – a blog that I follow frequently and find inspiration, laughter and deep thoughts from. You know who they are, those bloggers that you’ve never even met but you feel a strange connection…you almost have a little crush on them? These are most definitely folks on my blog roll, and if you are reading and subscribing to The Webb they should be on yours, too.

I first learned about this week’s #BlogCrush when I asked …
