Blog Crush – Susan Pogorzelski
Every week I’ll be updating The Webb with a little ditty about my most recent blogcrush – a blog that I follow frequently and find inspiration, laughter and deep thoughts from. You know who they are, those bloggers that you’ve never even met but you feel a strange connection…you almost have a little crush on them? These are most definitely folks on my blog roll, and if you are reading and subscribing to The Webb they should be on yours, too.
I first learned about this week’s #BlogCrush when I asked a few Twitter friends for some women to follow in my Reader. A former #BlogCrush gave me a few suggestions, including Susan Pogorzelski (who blogs and Tweets under 20(or)something.) And then I started following Susan on Twitter. And subscribing to her blog. And emailing with her. And Skyping with her. And Susan became one of the greatest friends I’ve made online.
Which is why I’ve had this draft sitting in my queue for over a month. I’ve always been very careful to be as objective as possible, writing about most #BlogCrushes before I’ve really become friends with them. But that’s one of the most appealing things about Susan, both as a person and in her blog. She’s just such an amazing person that I’m gonna throw all my #BlogCrush and blogging rules aside and write up a little ditty about her blog, 20(or)something.
Susan is a blogger that you don’t run across on a regular basis. Rather than only writing about the buzzword topics of social media and career paths she also writes about the things that most impact the life of a 20-something. She writes about love and perspective and home and dreams. While most people are writing their posts with brand and judgment in mind, Susan just lays herself out there. You feel like she is giving you the opportunity to glimpse in to see the real her, something you frequently have to wonder about online. Plus, she loves Neil Patrick Harris as much as me, which is just amazing (Doogie, why did you have to instill in me a love for gay men?!)
She writes from a place of experience in trying new things. Of never giving up or settling, but instead seeing realities and adjusting her plans. Whether it is traveling across the world to live in France or returning to her full-time job upon realizing that freelancing is not going to work for her (right now) she is constantly growing and discovering herself in a raw and candid manner for the world to see. Perhaps my favorite part of her whole blog is when she has hard and in depth conversations with the Universe (yep, you read that right) which are somehow humorous and poignant all rolled up in one.
So if you are looking for a great blog about the struggles and questions of a 20-something person trying to navigate their place in life while attempting to bribe the Universe with Tootsie Rolls, then check out 20(or)something.

Susan is amazing! I’ve been following for awhile now, especially since Carlos kept mentioning how great of a person she is. I’m always looking forward to you BlogCrushes
Elisa: You’ve managed to leave me completely in awe and completely speechless — not an easy feat, I promise! I’m sitting here with my fingers on the keyboard wanting to express all of the emotions that just spilled through me while reading your post, and all I really want to say is thank you, knowing that just isn’t enough.
But there you are…Thank you. No, not just for the kind words, which are beautiful and truly appreciated, and not just for taking the time to really get to know me by reading these posts (and I’m really sorry that you had to read through some of them!), or for proving me wrong about things I’ve somewhat doubted. I want to say thank you for all of that, but most of all, I want to say thank you for you. Thank you for this blossoming friendship, your mature and insightful comments, posts, and, and your constant ability to make me think and laugh at the same time. Our chats have been few so far, but I always sign off with a smile.
And Rich, Cheila, and Kris — I may just be getting to know some of you while enjoying a longer friendship with others, but I’m grateful for these connections as well. It’s posts like Elisa’s blogcrushes and blogs like her own that open up the community and enable people to form these friendships.
Righteous.

Excellent, excellent choice! And, I can’t blame you for throwing objectivity out the window. Susan is so sweet, she has that effect on everyone
Not only is she one of the kindest people I know, she’s also a fantastic writer. Digital hugs to you both!
I agree – what a great choice! Like you said, just from reading her blog, you get a sense of who Susan is and what she cares about. Her writing is beautiful, and most importantly honest. I’m glad you featured her!

Sam and Akhila: You guys are completely awesome! All of these relationships here mean so much because I have such respect and admiration for all of them, will always be in awe at how we connected and became, dare I say it, friends. Thanks so much for that and for your words.
And Elisa, thanks again. And DOOGIE! How did I not comment on that before?! I think I share your affection for gay men thanks to NPH.
