Thanks so much, Kris! When I was siting down to write this I had to think about what love meant to me. And I realized that it meant so much more than just falling in love romantically. When it comes down to it, love really is everywhere, in everything; if you take a close look at your life, it’s in every corner, in the people you’re closest to. That’s my family, that’s my dog, that’s my best friends offline and online. That definitely includes you.

I love your love for Diesel — that is always a beautiful thing to read about. Like Rich said in his post yesterday, dogs have this uncanny ability to be full of boundless love. It can be my own Riley, who that line was about, or the animals I volunteer with, it doesn’t matter. The one thing I feel when I see a dog is love. Love for them, and their love for me. Pretty special.

Thanks so much for your comment! I had a feeling we had many of the same ideas about love; I can’t wait to read your post! The one thing I can’t quite believe because it seems so incredible is how much love the heart is capable of. Think about all the people and things you’ve ever loved in all the many ways; think about all the love you’ve yet to give and receive. It’s like the heart is some mansion with room after room after room of love and it never quite fills up. I think you’re right — love is wherever you find it.

Wow, there are some killer writers so far in this series!

I’m a hug dog lover, so of course this made me aww…”Love is having this precious little trouble-maker who needs you, just as you need him, this quiet soul to calm you, who is every bit your saving grace as you are his.”

But I especially loved this line at the very end of your post…”Love is the little moments that are never forgotten, kept close and stored in the secret spaces of our hearts.”

Very fitting right now for me and so very true!

There is far more to love than just romantic love, and you give some touching examples of what love means to you. I think it depends on how you look at life.
