Welcome Back…Welcome Back, Welcome Back

8 March 2010 15 Comments

Ok, so that title makes a lot more sense when you hear the theme song from Welcome Back, Kotter in your head like I do (a little too frequently sometimes!)  But nonetheless it’s been ringing through as I get back into the swing of updating my own blog posts here on Ophelia’s Webb.

Don’t get me wrong…I don’t think I could have asked for a better anthology of posts on love than I got from the All You Need series.  And towards the end of February I really started to miss blogging.  But then March came and I stared at a blinking cursor, suddenly paralyzed by the idea of hitting publish.  Putting my OWN thoughts out to the world to read, writing tiny little pieces of internet manifesto for people to comment on, somehow keeping up the momentum and brilliance of my series and more importantly the other writers who contributed…all these things terrified me.

But writing is kinda what I do, so I decided that it was time to push through and jump right back in.  Plus, I started getting really jealous reading all sorts of brilliant new posts in my Google Reader, Re-Tweets, and one of my favorite E-Books ever by Colin Wright.  And it was really getting taxing checking my TweetDeck every 3 minutes to avoid working.

Since there are many new readers round these parts, I figured I’d give everyone the low down on how stuff rolls out, how to connect with me OFF of Ophelia’s Webb, and other little goodies.

  • New Posts come out here (on Ophelia’s Webb) on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Starting again in April every other week you can check out a newly profiled #BlogCrush to add new pretties to your Reader/Vibes/Etc.  Make sure you are subscribed to get all the new stuff.
  • Most of my relationship adventures and love-dovey-mushy speak have moved off of Ophelia’s Webb to my relationship column on MaineToday.com, The Single Slice.  New articles hit there on Sundays and Thursdays.  You can check out the column here or just save yourself some time and effort and subscribe here.  Feel free to read and comment lots, it keeps me employed.  :)
  • Any special content, like updates to the All You Need series, contests, etc will post on Mondays.
  • To get a regular update of all the new posts, my brilliant status updates and photos of life in and around Greater Portland, Maine we should hook up on Facebook.
  • Have stuff you’ve always wanted to ask me but maybe been a little too shy?  I signed up at Formspring so that you can do just that!
  • I also still write for various websites, blogs, magazines, etc so make sure we are connected on Twitter so you can get those awesome bit.ly’s.

Most importantly, no matter where we connect, make sure to drop me a quick line to introduce yourself cause I love meeting new people!  Plus, that way I’ll know you aren’t a creeper.

Thanks for all the support throughout the All You Need series, there are still some great surprises that will be released in the upcoming weeks.  Hope my regular readers got as much out of all the amazing guest posts as I did, and I really appreciate you staying on.  Welcome to the new folks and enjoy the ride!

Did you know I have a private newsletter that goes out ONLY to subscribers? It offers stories of travel adventures, writing brilliance, links to great content around the internet and other crazy shaningans.

I know exactly how you feel here Elisa. Last year when I gave the blog up for The Inconvenience of Change series, it was…a lot harder than I thought to get back into the swing of things. Like you, I loved the direction the guest series took, but really missed blogging myself, and it was a real challenge to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) again. Good to have you back – and REALLY enjoyed reading the All You Need series. Have a great week!

Matt – Thanks for contributing! It’s funny, I was all excited by how I was going to backlog my posts and have this trove to go to when I was short on material. Not only did I not backlog, I’ve barely logged on…til now. :)

You write good ;) Glad to have you and your writing back. I AD-OR-ED the love series (I said “this one is my favorite about 10 times”) but I love your writing. And you’re kinda cool too, we should live together in a town house!

Amy – I agree, we should totally get on that living in a townhouse thing ASAP

    WELCOME BACK! Love that song.

It’s good to hear your voice again and I wanted to say that I really loved the series as well as your new column. Keep it up, Elisa :)

Grace – I *love* old school TV show themes. I think it comes from watching Nick At Nite for hours with my Dad. They’re in my brain far more than I care to admit :D

Hooray! Welcome back! :) The All You Need series was one of the joys of February. You pulled together a terrific group of bloggers on a subject for which there is so much to debate, consider, and, for lack of a better word, just plain love.

Excited to see what you have in store. :)

Susan – Yes, I was very blessed with how great the series ended up coming together. I had some reservations with how closely I held it and oversaw the product, but I think in the end it worked well. I’m excited for what’s in store, some pretty cool things yet to come. :)

Aww shucks, thanks for the kind words, Elisa :)

Great to see where all your web-tendrils lead! It was a privilege to be a part of the All You Need series, too. Thanks for including me!

Colin – Not kind words, but true ones. I’ve told many a people about your remarkable E-Book, it really is great!

And yes, my web-tendrils extend far and wide. Or at least to a couple other places. Regardless they’re all great places to catch me if I’m not here.

Yay! Stoked that you are back! Looking forward to see what you have coming ahead. A dating column? Where have I been? Need to head over there! Thanks! :)

    • http://www.opheliaswebb.com Elisa Doucette

Cheila – Haha, yes, the site picked me up in January and I just started writing in February. Posting my posting schedule online makes it much easier to HAVE to post everywhere so it will be much more solid. :)

Thanks for the kind words, and yes, some great #blogcrushes already hashed out in my mind.
