Writing On The Webb

14 August 2011 4 Comments

Sometimes, for reasons that are fun and not analytic or SEO oriented, I like to look through the Referring Keywords on my dashboard.

For those who aren’t uber-blogging geeks like myself, a referring keyword is simply the word (or sentence) that visitors type into a search engine that brings up my site as a result and causes them to click-thru.

Why would that be fun you ask?

Well, aside from people looking to find out if I have a boyfriend or if Jamie Varon drinks coffee or if Carlos Miceli has a six-pack (all previous searches) I also get some hilarious phrases that make me truly wonder what people are doing online. Here are some from the past couple months:

  • …Bad Mood…Shit Happens…
  • book about girl with fiddle magic named after bird
  • can i live with my pregnant mistress?
  • katewinslettboobs
  • mind wandering in dangerous territory
  • my name is eliza. i’m a walmart girl
  • once upon a time a girl so inlove. then a slut came. end of the story
  • things that the irish have conrol over
  • ryan reynolds myers briggs

See the hilariousness?

What I’ve Done:

Oh, and have you been checking out Alex’s Digital Adhesivecomic on Ophelia’s Webb lately? If you didn’t adore Tegan before, then you will now. I’m certainly coming around.

What I’ve Found:

If You Read Nothing Else This Week: We all know, I’m pretty much a super geek. So I was probably more excited than most to see a post by Steve Kamb on Nerd Fitness called How To Become A Comic Book Hero. From super power to alter ego to arch nemesis, this piece will help you sort out your own epic adventure to become the hero you always dreamed of being every time you tied a kitchen towel around you neck and jumped off the table when you were a kid

My biggest blogging goal is to have an entire post here of my posts. Only 3 this time, but I’m getting close!

Ha! It’s good to have goals.

While you *did* have 3, your arch-nemesis stole the “If You Read Nothing Else This Week” slot. Just sayin’ ;)
