About

I know, you’re reading through this site (frequently referred to as “The Webb”) and all the craziness that finds it’s way on here and you are wondering “What is this all about?”  Well, good news – you are in the right place to find that out!

About Me:
I’m a fun, goofy, laid back girl who is at her best sipping a Shipyard with friends watching the Sox/Pats/Celtics/*Insert Kick Ass Sporting Team here* game or curled up with a book on the couch listening to jazz.

My heart finds it happiest solace in singing and music, regardless of whether people think I’m “good enough” or not (there’s always been a pretty divided camp on that opinion) – but I wasn’t even cool enough in high school to hang out with the other band geeks!

I could spend a lifetime sitting on a mountain staring out at the view….Thoreau and Emerson were two of the most brilliant folks ever

I enjoy having really good conversation with great people over cups of coffee or glasses of good wine.

I love sharing with others when I admire/adore/really like things (hello #BlogCrush!)

I’m a procrastinatory perfectionist which makes for an insane work/life balance

I have a syndrome called fibromyalgia, which on top of making me achy and pained a lot, it also leaves me completely exhausted sometimes and that’s why I have such an early bedtime and sometimes can’t go out to play

In a group of 5 guys someone once said to me “Elisa, since you’re the closest thing we’ve got to a girl what do you think?”

I believe every problem in the world can be solved with a vicious game of rock, paper, scissors

And when I’m super tired I’ll fall asleep standing up or giggle like a schoolgirl at vaguely amusing things.

Mostly, I just like to smile…smilings my favorite :)

My favorite quote is often incorrectly attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson.  No idea who came up with it, but I love it:

“To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch…

To know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived…THIS is to have succeeded”

About The Webb:
Ophelia’s Webb is named after two of my favorite gals, Ophelia from Hamlet (Shakespeare) and Emily Webb from Our Town (Wilder) One friend commented to me “How very literary of you.” My response was “No, I’m just a really big geek!”

Ophelia is the epitome of goodness. Her heart is pure. She has no way to reconcile the contradictory selves (sweet and innocent vs sultry and mature) society demands that she be and still retain an equilibrium. The penetrating and frank statements she delivers suggest that Ophelia’s craziness may be the height of her power, rather than her weakest moment.

Emily is an intelligent girl who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to pursue her desires, modest though they are. She is the quintessential “girl-next-door.” Emily comments upon how the Living do not understand how wonderful yet fleeting life is and urges us to seize each day and appreciate the wonder of each passing moment. Her dreamy ways, however, do not get in the way of her practical nature.

About My Website Design:
While my website “design” is the Un-Theme Theme, the developing/coding/brilliant WP Ninja and computer skills behind it’s awesomeness lie with my web developer Andrew Norcross.  Seriously, if you are looking for help with your website, hire him.  No no…don’t ask me ridiculous questions about if it’s worth it.  Just do it.  You will be 164% satisfied with the results.  Trust.
