Why then, do we live our lives vicariously through these fictional manifestations? What stops us from being the authors of our own lives?

Life is about those moments. Those fleeting times that flash before our eyes, that we miss because we are focusing too much on what is to come. Our futures are never guaranteed. You cannot know what is going to happen. We only have the moments of now.

There are people that let things happen and there are people that make things happen.
I’ve spent most of my life being the prior.  Which has always been a difficult existence because most people assumed I was the latter.  In reality I’ve been an EXTREMELY lucky person.  That was likable enough that people went out of their way to help me.

I learned from a year of continuously practicing and performing that there are 525,600 minutes in one year of life (I spent approximately 300,000 of those minutes with the song stuck in my head during my senior year.)
It certainly sounds like a lot of time.  There are three digits on EACH side of the comma!  Even if you get 8 hours of sleep a night that only takes 175,200 minutes out.
